As part of my regular Bible reading, I’ve found it serves me best to write about what I read and share the thoughts that come from it. I’ve never been a big reader, so this style helps me stay focused and remember what God is teaching me. Along the way, I often reflect on current events and connect them to the passages I’m reading.
This blog is primarily a legacy I want to leave for my children and the generations to come—something that helps them understand the how and why of navigating difficult times and situations through faith.
I’ve spent my entire life in customer service, which means I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. Over the years, I’ve noticed a striking contrast: some of the wealthiest people I served were often the quickest to insult or haggle, while others—who were clearly struggling to make ends meet—were overjoyed just to see me and treated me with warmth and gratitude. Experiences like these have left me deeply aware that true joy and contentment don’t come from material things, but from the heart and where we place our hope.
I’ve walked through many seasons of hardship and heartbreak: losing my mother at a young age, later losing my father, walking alongside my wife as she bravely fought—and won—a battle with aggressive cancer, and even enduring the devastating loss of a child. Through it all, I’ve never been the kind of person who could just accept “that’s the way it is.” Every circumstance has only deepened a question that has always lived inside me: Why? Why do some suffer while others seem untouched? Why do we endure loss, pain, and struggle? Those questions don’t push me away from God—they drive me to seek Him even more.
Through every trial, one truth has remained: my Lord and Savior has never failed me.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures.” (Psalm 23:2)
This is the peace and promise I hold onto, and the hope I want to share here.
